In the growing age of science and technology, the profession of engineering has various inventions that are enriching the world. The engineer expertise allows them to design those devices that display exceptional intelligence.

There are certain ways to preserve the energy with wearable devices and technology applications that also enhances quality of life. In different disciplines, engineers are doing amazing things. An engineer usually manufactures products, provides chemical solutions and built breath taking structures that will be very much appreciated in the global market.

There are thousands of individuals and organizations that are significantly improving human conditions in education, economic development, environment and health through technologies. Some of these technologies are completely new inventions, and others are innovative uses of existing technologies. Under mentioned are some innovations that were honored in Tech awards Gala in the year 2014.

  • Inventive power – It has helped in reducing CO2 emissions by making use of solar thermal energy collectors. There was a great problem of improper natural gas distribution system in some of the Latin American countries.

Both the natural gas and CNG are fossil fuels whose combustion generates CO2 and contribute in the global climate change. For this, the inventive power has created a special designed solar thermal energy collector that generates high temperature steam for the production of electrical power.

  • Source international – People are fighting pollution through community training as extractive industries have increased the activities of low-income countries. People that are living near mines or drilling sites were suffering from pollution.

To overcome this, source international has offered a suite of scientifically validated testing technologies to the poor communities for the examination of water, air and soil for the variety of chemical contaminants.

  • World reader – Engineers have increased the literacy through e-books. There are around 781 million adults in the world that cannot read or write, according to a survey. So, World readers have used inexpensive e-readers with extended battery life that provides books to children and young people.

The extensive training and capacity building for facilitators, librarians and teachers are featured the activity plan that is designed to nurture love for reading.

  • Nanoly – Engineers are making vaccines that are easier to deliver. In the survey of last year, around 20 million children didn’t received immunizations and around 2 million people are dying from vaccine preventable diseases. For this, Nanoly has developed a biomaterial that encapsulates and protects thermally-sensitive biologics during storage. The primary customers of Nanoly include pharmaceutical companies and non-profit vaccine distributors such as UNICEF.
